You have found us! Located just twenty minutes outside of central Ubud, we’re operating our process-based art residency of eight rooms with infinite possibilities for your ideas.

Mabiang Seni starts from the etymology of the word ‘biang’ in the local Balinese dialect, meaning ‘mother’. In Indonesian itself, ‘biang’ can also represent the roots, the origin of something. It is a tribute to the owner, who is a mother of three, able to support the main vision of the team: to let art be as nurturing and deep-rooted as a maternal figure in your life.

We are also located nearby a local water purification temple Goa Garba –coincidentally, the word ‘garba’ in Balinese also means ‘womb’.

With that, our mission is to be able to create an environment that is enriching for each of our artist-in-residence to develop their own artistic visions, supported by room for growth through their art practice and constructive dialogues –between you and your artwork, between you and other artists. In the future as we develop this on-site and off-site, we would like to strengthen the artistic environment as a whole by promoting surrounding art facilities, museums, galleries, and other related venues in Bali.
